Over the weekend, a flood of comments swamped President Obama's Google Plus page. Not only were they written in Chinese, they were filled with political and social sentiments. Some examples "Hurry up and liberate us, Obama!" "Obama, we invite you to join the Communist Party." "Brother Obama, gimme a green card?" In China, authorities block sites such as Facebook and YouTube, which are considered "illegal or pornographic." CNBC reports a momentary glitch loosened China's tight grip on the Internet. The government usually bans Internet users from using social media sites such as Google+, Facebook and Twitter -- sometimes called "the Great Firewall of China." Another common theme of the messages is a push for the release of 2010 Nobel Peace Prize winner Liu Xiaobo and activist Chen Guangcheng who is under house arrest for advocating women's rights. The Washington Post reports the Chinese comments threw some Americans off, with one user complaining ... "I think it's awesome that China now has access to G+, but seriously, if you're going to flood an American politician with comments, at least put them in English so those of us who actually live here can read them."
